| The most exciting updates with this version are the addition of graphical summaries of records by year and month of observation, and the ability to see tabular data associated with individual point observation records. These summaries may be viewed by “sliding” open the “Charts and Data” window at the bottom of the page. Zooming into different scales automatically updates the graphical summaries and tabular data. Tabular data for individual records can be seen by zooming into individual observations and checking the “details” box on the Charts and Data tab. Other exciting features are the addition of a measurement tool on the toolbar at the top of the page, the ability to open and close the map legend, and the ability to view all of your own records. Charts and Data Display Window The Charts and Data window displays the results of the Query / Reports filters and search options combined with the geographic extent of tech map window. As tech view in the map changes, the charts and data lists will change to reflect the new extent. As changes are made in the Query / Reports filters, again, the charts and data lists will change. Display Options: You may limit or expand the charts and data lists displayed by checking or un-checking the Display Options along the top of the window. To display the change, click . Window Size: You may expand or shrink
the size of the Charts and Data window by left clicking on the top of
the window on the grab area: Charts
Summary List The list is grouped by TAXA and contains information for the COMMON or SCEINTIFIC NAME, Heritage Program GLOBAL and STATE RANKS, SIGHTINGS information (Earliest, Latest, Oldest, Newest), and total COUNT. You may pick to sort the list on either COMMON or SCIETIFIC name. You may also the list on any of the other column headings by clicking on the column title. Clicking on the name of the species will open the Montana Animal Field Guide and display information on that species. Photos If you select a set of photograpghs to view from the list in the Photo Viewer panel on the left of the map, a list of those photos corresponding to the geographic extent of teh map will appear ion the Charts and Data window. Clicking on View Photo: [name].jpg will cause the photo to open in a new browser window. Details The Details List is a list of each of the observations based on the filters and search options in the Query/Reports panel and the geographic extent of the map window. To enable the list tio display, click ont the Details check box and then click on Update Report. NOTE: If the area of the map is large and you have a large number of observations displayed, it may take a long time for the new results to display.
